Romijn Conen sentenced to 10 months in prison for possession of 20,000 child sex abuse images

Romijn Conen, a 23-year-old man from the Netherlands, has been sentenced to 10 months in prison for possessing over 20,000 child sex abuse images. Conen was arrested in May 2023 after police raided his home and found the images on his computer. He pleaded guilty to the charges in June 2023.

The court heard that Conen had been downloading and viewing child sex abuse images for several years. He had also shared some of the images with other people online. The judge in the case said that Conen's actions were "despicable" and that he had shown no remorse for his crimes.

Conen's sentence is one of the longest ever handed down in the Netherlands for possession of child sex abuse images. The previous record sentence was 8 months.
