Mavs Center Dereck Lively II Ruled Out for Game 3
Dallas Mavericks center Dereck Lively II has been ruled out for Game 3
The Dallas Mavericks have ruled center Dereck Lively II out for Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals against the Golden State Warriors.
Lively suffered a right knee injury in Game 2 of the series on Wednesday night. He underwent an MRI on Thursday, which revealed a bone bruise. Lively is expected to miss at least one week, which would rule him out for the rest of the series if the Mavericks lose Game 3 on Friday night.
The Mavericks are already without starting center Christian Wood, who is recovering from a fractured thumb. Lively's absence will leave the Mavericks thin at the center position. JaVale McGee is expected to start in Lively's place, with Dwight Powell and Maxi Kleber also available to play.
