Celtics Put on a Show in Game 1
Rockets Outplayed by Celtics in Series Opener
The Boston Celtics continued to put on a show in the NBA Playoffs, dominating the Cleveland Cavaliers 120-95 in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference semifinals series.
The Celtics, who finished the regular season with the best record in the Eastern Conference, took control of the game early and never looked back. They led by 16 points at halftime and extended their lead to as many as 28 points in the second half.
The Celtics were led by Jayson Tatum, who scored 29 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Jaylen Brown added 23 points and 7 rebounds, and Al Horford chipped in with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
The Cavaliers were led by Darius Garland, who scored 21 points. Jarrett Allen added 19 points and 13 rebounds, and Evan Mobley had 16 points and 10 rebounds.
The Celtics will look to take a 2-0 lead in the series when they host the Cavaliers in Game 2 on Tuesday night.
